The Brush Stool is inspired by the intimate act of brushing another person’s hair, a gesture of care, trust, and closeness. The form is drawn from the comb: a curved spine carried on a row of parallel teeth.

There is no backrest, so hair is given somewhere to fall. One person sits. The other stands behind. Nothing of the body remains in it. What the stool keeps is the gesture – held in aluminium, at the scale of a person.
