What defines a space?
A boundary, a territory, an elevation. Something that allows an area to be recognized as distinct.

In spiritual contexts, this role is performed by the altar’s base: it marks territory and separates the everyday from the sacred. In everyday life, the same principle helps us organize space and give things a place. This series of plinths explores the meaning of spatial boundaries within the domestic environment.

Each plinth is cut from marble offcuts left over from stone production. Veining and tone vary from piece to piece.
